Our RICS Chartered Surveyors are qualified fire door inspectors (DipFD), and members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (AIFSM). We complete the necessary compliance checks on communal entrance doors, internal fire doors, and individual flat entrance doors, to keep Building Owners, Managers & Landlords compliant with the Building Safety Act 2022. All checks are fully documented, with clear evidence and positive reporting to offer complete assurance and compliance.

We are highly qualified and accredited, but it is our decades of practical experience spanning the breadth of the property, construction and housing industry that gives us our edge.

Fire Door Compliance
Fire doors save lives, and are essential to building safety and keeping people safe in the event of a fire. Compliant fire doors can stop fires spreading through the building, leading to less property damage and importantly give people more time for escape or rescue.
The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into force in January 2023 and legally require responsible persons for all multi-occupied residential buildings with storeys over 11 meters in height to undertake quarterly checks on all fire doors (including self-closing devices) in the common parts, and undertake annual checks on all flat entrance doors that lead to the building's common parts.
Our Dip FD and RICS Chartered Surveyors are members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, and both qualified and experienced in completing fire door compliance checks, equipping building owners and managers with everything they need to achieve and maintain compliance.

We can act for either party, or for both parties where agreed, which is often more cost effective. Both parties are equally protected, as the Surveyor is, in line with the Party Wall Act, effectively representing the wall owned by both sides.
